Round Dining Tables

A round dining table creates intimacy and a pleasant social flow. Everyone can see everyone else and there is no head position at the ends, so conversation flows naturally. Mokana Meubelen in Enschede carries a broad collection of round dining tables in solid mango, suar wood, teak and oak, in diameters from 110 cm to 180 cm. That way you will always find a model that suits your space and your group.

How many people: sizing advice

Allow roughly 60 cm of seating space per person along the circumference. A diameter of 110 to 120 cm comfortably seats 4 people. At 140 cm, 6 people sit comfortably, and at 160 cm you are heading towards 6 to 7 people. That way you choose a table that is neither too tight nor unnecessarily large. If you have a small dining room or are after a breakfast nook, there are compact round tables from 90 cm, workable for 2 to 3 people. The standard height is 75 cm.

Woods and bases

You can choose from solid mango (light and sleek), suar wood (dramatically marbled), teak (warm) and oak (classic). The bases come as a U-shaped leg, X-shaped leg, cross base and a sleek round pedestal. With a round table a central pedestal or cross base is often practical: no legs get in the way when you push a chair back. If you want a stately look instead, choose four legs at the corners of an imaginary square.

Placement in the room

A round table works particularly well in a square room, because it takes up the same amount of space in every direction. Keep at least 80 cm of clear space around the table, so you can sit down comfortably and walk around it. In a narrow or busy room, the round shape also avoids protruding corners, which makes for easier movement.

Made to measure

On request we make round dining tables to measure: a different diameter, height or wood is possible, from 90 cm to 200 cm. That way you get exactly the table that suits your interior and your group. Our advisers are happy to think along about the right combination of top and base.

What goes with a round dining table

With a round table you choose 4, 6 or 8 chairs that fit all round. Take a look at our dining chairs, with or without armrests, or combine with a dining bench along a wall for extra seating flexibility. A mix of chairs and a bench gives a relaxed, convivial look. If you are after a higher model, also take a look at our bar tables.
