We select garden furniture on weather resistance. Teak is naturally strong and long-lasting, but weathers to a silver-grey under the influence of UV and rain; if you want to keep the honey colour, treat it once a year with teak oil. Powder-coated aluminium is lightweight and does not rust. HPL composite is completely waterproof and colour-stable. Woven rattan in synthetic fibre looks natural and is frost-resistant. The cushions are all-weather and quick-dry: they dry within a few hours after rain because the filling is open-cell, where ordinary garden cushions stay wet for days.

Sizing advice: how much space do you need?

Allow at least four square metres of clear space for a two-seater with a coffee table, and eight to ten square metres for a complete corner lounge set. You can configure our modular sets to the exact dimensions of your terrace, so you make the most of the space available. For small balconies we have compact outdoor tables from eighty centimetres, and for large gardens tables up to two hundred and forty centimetres and wider.

A lounge set is the heart of every terrace summer: modular corner lounges, sofa and armchair combinations and complete dining-lounge islands in rattan, teak or metal with weatherproof cushions; if you want something smaller, choose individual lounge chairs. Caring for teak and all-weather cushions

Care for teak by brushing it once a year with a soft brush and water. If you want to keep the honey-brown colour, apply teak oil once a year; if you let teak weather, you need do nothing and it will turn silver-grey by itself. All-weather cushions are best stored indoors for the winter or protected with a cover. That way your outdoor set stays beautiful for years.

Finish your outdoor space with the right accessories. Choose a parasol to size: as a rule of thumb, take the table diameter plus one hundred centimetres for enough shade cover, so for a six-person table a parasol of two hundred and fifty to three hundred centimetres, with a heavy concrete base or ground socket for stability. Beyond that, fire bowls, throws and loose cushions complete the picture, so you can stay outside late into the evening.
