What the Dakota collection is and why mango wood

Dakota is a complete living collection: dining tables, sideboards, TV units and bookcases in the same recognisable language of natural mango wood on a black steel matrix leg. Mango wood is one of the most sustainable woods for furniture. The mango trees in India are grown primarily for their fruit. Once a tree reaches age and produces less fruit, the wood is used for furniture instead of being burned or thrown away. The wood is therefore a by-product of existing agriculture, and it grows quickly, so stocks recover fast. The solid construction makes every Dakota piece sturdy and usable for a long time, which ultimately makes it the most sustainable choice: furniture you will not need to replace any time soon.

Sizing advice: the right table for your space

The Dakota dining table comes in many sizes, both rectangular and oval, and as a round version. Allow roughly 60 cm of seating space per person and keep enough circulation space all round so everyone can sit down comfortably. Finish and base

The combination of natural mango wood with a black steel frame gives Dakota its characteristic, outspoken look. The same material language runs through the whole collection, so the dining table, the sideboard and the TV unit visually belong together. Solid mango wood needs little maintenance, but it does like a consistent indoor climate. Dust regularly with a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid standing moisture and prolonged, direct heat sources. Wood is a natural material: small variations in grain and colour are part of it and make each piece unique.
