What makes a root table so special

A root table uses the part of the tree where the roots spread out in every direction. The result is an irregular top with visible root formations, hollows and organic curves. Some tops are filled with epoxy for a flat surface, others sit as a raw slab under a glass top. Because every top comes from a different piece of wood, no two root tables are identical. Material: suar wood and teak

Suar wood, also called rain tree or Albizia saman, has dramatic marbling and runs in colour from light beige to dark brown. Teak has warmer honey tones. Version: with or without a glass top

Some root tables have a tempered glass top resting on the root slab, so you have a flat working surface while the organic shape beneath stays fully visible. Other models show the root shape in its raw state as the top surface. Both options have their charm and each one is unique. In the showroom we will show you which finish is possible for the top you have chosen.

Caring for a root table

A root table stays beautiful with a little attention. Dust the craggy parts with a soft brush, so you reach the hollows and edges too. Top up the wood every year with furniture oil to keep the colour deep and warm. If there is epoxy fill in the top, blot spills there dry straight away to prevent stains. That way the table keeps its character for years.
