Fabric sofa: which fabric suits me

Every fabric has its own character. Woven fabric is classic and hard-wearing. Microfibre is soft and practical to look after. Bouclé is a fabric with small loops that form a texture-rich, contemporary surface: on-trend and soft, but a little more careful in maintenance. Velvet gives a luxurious sheen. Choosing fabric with children and pets

For families with children or pets we recommend a microfibre or a fabric with a stain-repellent treatment. Many fabrics already come with an invisible protective layer as standard, and in the showroom we can tell you which models have this option. Velvet and chenille are beautiful, but a little more vulnerable with very small children, so that is a conscious choice. That way you enjoy your sofa for years.

Choosing colour and texture

Light fabrics fade less quickly than dark ones, but show stains sooner. Neutral, slightly deeper tones often forgive small imperfections better. If you combine your sofa with texture, for example bouclé or woven fabric, you hide light wear and give your seating area depth. Do not place your sofa in prolonged direct sunlight, and the colour will stay better.

Caring for your fabric sofa

Keep fabric fresh by vacuuming regularly with a soft brush. Treat stains straight away: blot and dab dry, do not rub hard. Cleaning instructions differ per fabric type, so ask in the showroom about the specific instructions for your model, or leave it to a professional textile cleaner if in doubt. That way you avoid rings and damage.
