The dining table is the heart of your dining room. At Mokana in Enschede you will find dining tables in every shape, size and material: solid tree trunk tables, sleek mango wood models, round and oval tables and everything in between. We genuinely know our wood, and we are happy to show you the tables in person so you can judge the colour, the top and the size before you decide.

Shape: rectangular, round, oval or Danish oval

The shape determines both character and usability. Rectangular dining tables are classic and practical and offer plenty of seating for a given footprint. Round tables are sociable: everyone faces each other and there are no sharp corners. Oval models combine space with an elegant, light play of lines. The Danish oval table is the iconic Scandinavian classic with flowing curves.

Wood type: mango, suar, teak and oak

Every wood type has its own character. Mango wood is warm brown, handmade and hard-wearing in normal use. Suar wood is a tropical hardwood with a dramatic, high-contrast grain, ideal for a true tree trunk table with a natural edge. Teak and oak are timeless and last for generations. On a slab model every top is unique, because no two trees are alike. Our advisers are happy to tell you how each type behaves in practice.

Base: U-shaped, X-shaped, spider base or wood

The right base sets the style. U-shaped and X-shaped legs give an industrial look, a spider base looks light and modern, and wooden legs give a warm, classic character. Many steel bases can be powder-coated in the colour of your choice, so the table matches your interior exactly.

How many people fit around a dining table

As a sizing guide, allow 60 cm of seating space per person along a long side. A rectangle of 160 cm seats four, 200 cm seats six and 240 cm seats six to eight. For a round table, 110 cm in diameter seats four, 140 cm seats six and 160 cm seats eight. Keep at least 80 cm of clear circulation space all around so chairs can be pulled out. Care and made to measure

Dust your table regularly and treat solid wood once or twice a year with natural furniture oil for a deep colour. Wipe up spills immediately and use coasters for hot dishes. Many of our tables can be made to measure in length, width, top thickness and base. Visit the showroom in Enschede to select tops on the spot and get advice on the best choice for your space and budget.

Combine with chairs and benches

Complete your set with dining chairs in fabric, leather or velvet. For extra conviviality, add a dining bench along one long side. Chairs with armrests look particularly good with tree trunk tables. Our own delivery team delivers throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, places the table where you want it and takes the packaging away. Paying in instalments is possible, and for customers in Twente and the German border region the showroom is close by.
