The Iron coffee table by World of Brosi is no everyday coffee table, it is an honest piece of nature that does not hide its story. Fully solid teak wood, built up from old railway sleepers that once served elsewhere, gains a second life here as a central piece in your living room. The end faces openly show the growth rings, cracks and knots of the wood, a visual rhythm reminiscent of a natural wooden sculpture. No two pieces are identical.

The combination of warm, lively teak wood with a sleek black powder-coated steel base makes the Iron versatile. The piece feels at home in a rural living room with plastered walls and natural tones, but equally suits an industrial or modern Japandi interior. The black frame with trapezoidal legs literally and figuratively lifts the solid wooden body, giving the table a light, floating appearance despite its substantial weight.

Artisanal craftsmanship from Indonesia

World of Brosi works with Indonesian furniture makers who have generations of experience working with solid, recycled woods. For the Iron, old railway sleepers are selected for their character, sanded, jointed and assembled into a dense solid body. The rounded end faces at the front and back show the original shape of the beams and form the signature element of this coffee table. Through the reuse of railway sleepers, each table carries its own history, including the natural imperfections that come with authentic material.

Versatile in style

The Iron holds its own alongside a spacious light lounge sofa in linen or bouclé, but it also comes beautifully into its own beside a leather chesterfield or a brown leather armchair. Combine it with a jute or wool rug, organic ceramics and a few green accents such as a bonsai or fern, and you create a calm, grounded living room with a wabi-sabi feel. For those who want more drama, place the table against a deep background of warm brown or olive green plastered walls.

Maintenance

Teak wood is naturally rich in oils and therefore very low maintenance. We advise wiping dry with a soft cloth and removing stains immediately with a lightly damp cloth. Touching up once a year with a neutral furniture oil keeps the warm tone of the wood at its finest. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and do not place hot pans or damp glasses directly on the surface.
