Not every room suits a pendant. A low ceiling, a door that swings open or a hallway where nothing should hang in the way: in those cases a flush ceiling light makes more sense. The ZTAHL Martani brings the recognisable shape of the series to the ceiling, with a round Ø 50 cm fixture that drops only 31 cm.

Atmosphere without a pendant

The shade is built from metal slats that together form an organic, gently flowing shape. That gives the ceiling depth and texture, where standard ceiling lighting usually stays flat and purely functional. Light comes from a single downlight of 550 lumens with a warm colour temperature of 2000 to 2700K, so a calm, homely glow rather than cool task light. An external dimmer lets you set the level yourself.

Handmade in Uden

ZTAHL makes the Martani in Uden, the Netherlands, in cooperation with social workshops. You choose between two finishes: Quartz 2 and Platinum. The fixture weighs 5 kg and is not adjustable, so measure the spot beforehand. Think of a hallway, landing, bedroom, study, kitchen or a compact living room where a pendant would take up too much space.
