How putting it together yourself works

The configurator works in steps. First you choose an oak dining table in the size and version you want. Then you combine it with separate seats: classic dining chairs, chairs with or without armrests, or a dining bench and armchair for a more relaxed feel. Because you choose everything separately, you decide the balance between table and seating and put together a dining area that is fully tailored to your situation.

Sizing advice for table and chairs

The right size starts with the space. Measure the spot where the dining area will go and keep enough room around the table to pull chairs in and walk past comfortably. Allow roughly a shoulder width of table edge per seat, so everyone has plenty of room. If you choose a bench along one side, you save circulation space against the wall. If you are unsure about the number of chairs or the table size, our interior advisers are happy to help.

Oak as the foundation

Oak is a strong, timeless and warm material that feels at home in virtually any interior. Its calm grain suits a modern as well as a country or contemporary interior. Because the table forms the robust, natural foundation, you can easily add your own accent through the choice of chairs and benches: sleek and modern, or soft and welcoming with upholstered seats.

Caring for your dining area

Keep an oak table beautiful by wiping the top regularly with a slightly damp, soft cloth and rubbing it dry afterwards. Avoid abrasive products and aggressive cleaners and wipe up spills straight away. Keep upholstered chairs and benches fresh by brushing them lightly or vacuuming with a soft brush from time to time. That way your self assembled dining area stays beautiful and comfortable for years.
