Where many rugs get their design by printing, Louis de Poortere weaves the pattern into the fabric. The design therefore stays visible as the pile moves and does not wear off the surface. The style runs from faded, almost weathered designs to crisp graphic work, and there is always a layer of colour gradient in it.

The eleven collections

Each line has its own character, which makes choosing straightforward:

Materials, sizes and shapes

The rugs are made of polyester, for part of the collections 70 percent recycled. They come rectangular in ten sizes, from 80 x 150 cm to 280 x 390 cm, and round in 140, 240 and 290 cm diameter. Prices run from 189 to 1,799 euro, depending on size and collection.

Which interior it suits

A woven design copes with a busy household better than a plain rug: crumbs, paw prints and light wear stand out less in a design that already carries variation. The faded lines suit a warm, layered interior, the graphic ones a crisp, modern setting. In a dining room a rectangular rug works best, in a reading corner a round model.
