Materials and colours

A defining feature is the wide choice of upholstery: high-quality fabrics such as linen, cotton and velour, various synthetic blends and several types of leather, usually on a wooden or metal base. Thanks to the broad choice of materials and colours and the many leg finishes, you can put together a sofa that fits your interior precisely, from calm and neutral to warm and characterful.

The story of Passe Partout

Passe Partout was founded in 1998 and works from Temse, on the Scheldt between Antwerp and Ghent. The founders' starting point was simple: beautiful seating does not have to be unaffordable. That is still the common thread. Every sofa, armchair and table is made to order, in the fabric, arrangement and size you choose, and sold through independent furniture stores such as Mokana. The brand's motto is "Enjoy life, enjoy your sofa".

The collection grew from upholstered sofas into a complete living range: modular corner sofas and sofas, lounges and armchairs, dining chairs and bar stools, dining and coffee tables in solid oak or walnut, rugs, cushions and poufs, and an outdoor line in Frake and weather-resistant fabrics. At Mokana you configure almost every model online; the price updates live and the manufacturer's dimension sheet comes with every product.

The designers

Most of the collection comes from the in-house design team PP lab led by Dirk Steenbeke, including Donny, Medusa, Pongo, Zola, Altina, Adino and Alberto. The table collection (Bardi, Bliss, Bombay, Lombok, Sunset Groove) and the Breeze outdoor stools are by Laura Steenbeke. Frederik Delbart designed the Scala corner sofa, and Axel Enthoven and Hans Daalder have also worked for the brand.

Made sustainably

Passe Partout uses FSC-certified board material and can trace every wooden component back to its forest of origin, in line with the European deforestation regulation (EUDR). All glues in production are water-based and glue consumption has been cut by more than a quarter. Foam parts travel in reusable Fybertex bags instead of plastic, the factory's energy use is measured weekly and deliveries go by Euro VI trucks. Because everything is made to order, there is no overproduction.
