Description
Slender birch trunks stand out against a softly painted backdrop in brown and grey. The craquelure finish gives the surface a fine, cracked texture, so light falls across the canvas in a different way than it would on a flat print. Up close you notice the brushstrokes, from a distance the woodland settles into a calm, understated scene.
This painting by Hiskiart is hand painted on canvas, stretched over a wooden frame. That gives it more relief than a flat image, and on the wall it works as a quiet point among the other colours and shapes in the room. Because each canvas is finished by hand, slight differences in colour and form can occur, making every piece subtly its own.
