Description
Canvas on a wooden frame forms the base of this painting, with acrylic paint applied using the giclée technique and then finished by hand. That gives every piece its own character: small variations in colour and shape are part of this handmade finish. The white box frame holds the canvas in a calm, understated way, without distracting from the blue and yellow macaw set against a dark background.
The elongated, upright composition is a deliberate choice. It lets the tail, beak and blue feathers of the macaw stand out from top to bottom. That makes this painting suited to a narrow wall space, beside a door or in a stairwell, where a wide composition would not fit.
