Description
Canvas on a wooden frame forms the base of Boss Mode, printed using giclée and then finished by hand. That handwork shows in subtle differences in colour and texture, meaning no two pieces are ever quite the same. The painting shows a gorilla in sunglasses and a light pinstripe suit, raising a glass at a formally laid table. The stately, refined setting creates a humorous contrast with the animal, and that contrast is exactly what makes the image work.
A beige box frame runs around the canvas, giving the piece a calm, finished edge without drawing attention from the scene itself. The frame sits flush against the canvas, with a depth of 3.5 centimetres, giving the work a sense of relief when hung freely on a wall. Hanging hooks are included, so you can put it up straightaway.
