Description
A square format of 100 by 100 centimetres makes this painting work above a sofa, a sideboard or on a bare wall that needs a bit of filling. The elephant head appears between layered blue grey and soft white areas of paint. The trunk hangs straight down, giving the portrait a calm symmetry that suits a room where you do not want too much movement on the wall.
Metal foil and glitter add small accents to the finish, catching the light differently throughout the day. The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame with a depth of 3.7 cm, which makes the painting appear to float slightly off the wall. The technique is giclée, and each piece is finished by hand, so small variations in colour and shape are part of the character of Schilderij Olifant in blauwgrijs by Hiskiart.
