Description
The elephant's head pushes forward between orange paint splatters and turquoise patches of colour. The grey animal stays clearly recognisable, even as loose, almost abstract layers of paint cut across it. The giclée technique with hand finishing gives the surface a subtle relief: as daylight catches the canvas at an angle, the brushstrokes and layers of colour really come alive.
Schilderij Olifant in popart is a wide format piece, made for a wall where it can draw attention without taking over the room. The canvas is stretched over a wooden frame and finished with acrylic paint, keeping the colours deep and saturated.
