Leather sofas

A leather sofa is a twenty-year decision, so it is worth understanding what you are buying. We stock leather sofas from Dutch and Italian makers, and you can sit on most of them in the showroom before deciding.

The types of leather, briefly

Aniline is leather dyed all the way through with no protective coating. It feels warm and alive, shows every mark, and develops a patina that most owners come to love. Not the obvious choice with small children.

Semi-aniline has a thin protective layer. Nearly as soft, considerably more forgiving.

Corrected grain is sanded and given a printed grain. It is the most durable and the least characterful of the three, and the most sensible if the sofa will take a beating.

Buffalo leather is thicker with a pronounced grain, robust and informal.

What we carry

Het Anker is our main Dutch maker: solid frames, made to order, with a choice of leather grades and colours. Chill-Line covers the more relaxed end, including recliners with electric adjustment. We also carry Italian and Belgian brands for the more architectural shapes.

Most models are made to order, which means you choose the size, the arrangement and the leather. Lead times are typically eight to twelve weeks; the exact time is on each product page.

Frequently asked

Can I see and feel the leather before ordering?
Yes, and we recommend it. The showroom has sample sets of every leather grade, and we can send samples by post if you cannot visit.
How long does a made-to-order sofa take?
Usually eight to twelve weeks. Some models are in stock and can be delivered within a fortnight; the product page states which.

Our product pages are in Dutch. Photographs, dimensions and prices are straightforward to read, and we answer questions in English by WhatsApp or email.
