What the Somo Teak collection is and what teak stands for

Somo Teak is made from solid teak with a golden brown, natural look and hand forged details. Teak is a dense, oil rich hardwood known for its character and durability: every board has its own grain and colour shading, so no two pieces are exactly alike. The black metal and the black top bring calm and contrast, so the warm wood comes into its own. The collection suits an industrial, country or rugged interior style.

Sizing advice: choosing the right size

Within the Somo Teak collection you choose between 110 cm and 200 cm for the sideboards. A compact 110 cm sideboard works nicely in a narrower hallway or as an accent piece, while the 200 cm version offers plenty of storage in a spacious living room. Measure the available wall width in advance and leave room on either side, so the piece does not look wedged in. Choose the TV unit and wall cabinet in the same way: let the size of your television and your belongings lead.

Version and the black top

Characteristic of Somo Teak is the combination of warm teak with a black top and black metalwork. That version gives the collection a modern, understated base in which the wood takes the lead. Because all pieces share the same materials, the TV unit, sideboards and wall cabinet tie in seamlessly with one another. That way you build a consistent teak living line, even if you expand in stages from a single piece to a complete interior.

Caring for teak

Teak is low maintenance. Wipe the wood regularly with a slightly damp, soft cloth and dry it afterwards. Avoid aggressive cleaning products and abrasive sponges, which can attack the oil layer. If you want to feed the warm golden brown colour, you can optionally apply teak oil once a year. Do not place hot pans or wet glasses directly on the top and use coasters to prevent rings.
