What is an E27 bulb
The E27 is the large screw fitting with a diameter of 27 millimetres, the most widely used fitting in Dutch home lighting. It is larger than the E14 and does not fit an E14 holder, so always check first which fitting your lamp needs. Because the E27 is a little more generous, it is ideally suited to pendant lights above the dining table, floor lamps and larger table lamps where a powerful or decorative bulb is wanted.
Filament and shape of the bulb
The filament of your bulb is available in a straight form or a spiral form. With the larger E27 bulbs in particular, that shape is clearly visible and the filament becomes part of the interior picture. Within both the straight and the spiral form there are further differences in shape and size, so choose a filament you find beautiful and that suits the style of your lamp. With an open shade or a clear glass globe, the filament shows especially well.
