Suar wood tree trunk table 440 cm: waterfall version
Few pieces of furniture make as much of an impression as a solid suar wood tree trunk table in a waterfall version. On this piece of no less than 440 centimetres, the tabletop continues seamlessly down to the floor on one side: the so-called waterfall. The result is a sculptural piece that is as much a table as it is a work of art.
What makes suar wood so special?
Suar wood: also known as suar, monkeypod or Albizia Saman: grows on Java and Sumatra and is renowned for its broad trunk, warm honey-brown colour and the striking concentric growth rings that differ with every tree. Thanks to the enormous trunk diameter, suar wood is exceptionally suited to tree trunk tables of large dimensions without joins. The natural live edge: the organic outer side of the trunk: has been carefully preserved and lightly sanded, so that the raw beauty of the wood is shown to its full advantage.
Waterfall construction: technique and aesthetics in one
The waterfall technique requires an exceptionally thick slab: the wood does not bend, but is continued at the side with a second piece from the same trunk. Skilled woodworkers match the grain exactly, so that the growth rings flow smoothly from the tabletop to the end panel. The effect is impressive both technically and visually: a genuine eye-catcher in any dining room.
Every table is unique
No two suar wood tree trunk tables are identical. The growth rings, small cracks (checks), colour variations and the shape of the live edge differ from piece to piece. This makes your table an absolutely unique piece of furniture that cannot be found anywhere else. Finish and maintenance
The table is delivered oiled with a natural water-based hard oil that nourishes and protects the wood without concealing its structure. Maintenance is simple: rubbing it over once a year with Rubio Monocoat or a comparable natural oil keeps the wood in optimal condition. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and use a coaster for warm dishes.

Frequently asked questions
Do you carry the furniture into the room?
Yes, where that is possible. With enough space, a wide enough passage and a lift if there is one, our own drivers put the piece down exactly where you want it. If that cannot be done, we deliver to the front door. Not sure it will fit through your hallway or stairwell? Tell us before the delivery date and we will look at it with you.
Is this piece assembled for me?
What you order in the webshop is delivered but not assembled. Buy the same piece in our store in Enschede and our drivers do place and assemble it on site, and take the packaging away with them.
What does delivery cost?
Within 35 kilometres of Enschede we deliver free of charge. Beyond that, anywhere in the Netherlands you pay 50 euro per order rather than per item, so a sofa and a dining table together cost the same as one of them. Belgium is 100 euro. From 1,000 euro we deliver free within the Netherlands; solid tree trunk tables are excluded from both arrangements because they are too heavy. For Starfurn, Livingfurn and Brix delivery is already free from 250 euro, and for Richmond Interiors from 150 euro.
When will my order be delivered?
The delivery time for this piece is shown with the product on this page. Once it is in, we get in touch to agree a delivery slot together, based on where you live and our delivery route. You are not simply assigned a day you had no say in.
Can I collect the order myself?
Yes. You can collect your order at our store at Hogelandsingel 49 in Enschede. We contact you first, as soon as it is ready for you.
