What makes this table unique is the double waterfall: at both end sides the solid 10 cm thick top curves downwards, so that the wood literally seems to flow from the table surface to the floor. A full solid top of 10 cm thick

The top is cut from a single suar wood trunk and retains the natural live edge on both long sides. The width runs organically from 130 cm via 110 cm to 120 cm, exactly as the tree itself grew. No straight saw cuts, no additions, only the tree as it was. The wood shows a rich play of warm honey, beige and light caramel nuances, with the lively pronounced grain characteristic of mature suar trees.

Floating construction on powder-coated U-legs

The Waterfall is mounted on heavy black powder-coated U-shaped steel legs placed as hidden anchor points beneath the top. Thanks to this placement the solid top appears to literally float, a visual effect that softens the weight and mass of the wood and gives the table a modern feel despite its natural character. The steel U-legs are generously dimensioned and carry the full weight effortlessly.

Suar wood, the Indonesian monkeypod

Suar wood, internationally better known as monkeypod or botanically Albizia saman, is one of the most sought-after wood types for design tables. The tree grows mainly on Java and in Central America, can reach an age of more than a hundred years and yields wide trunks that lend themselves excellently to single-piece tabletops. The wood combines a light caramel colour in the sapwood with deeper brown tones in the heartwood, often with a dramatic contrast within the same board. Suar is furthermore stable, wear-resistant and well able to withstand temperature fluctuations.

Suitable for 10 to 14 people

With its length of 380 cm the Waterfall comfortably seats 10 to 14 people, depending on the chosen chairs. Ideal for anyone who entertains often, for large families, or as a statement piece in a long dining area or loft. Maintenance

Suar wood is naturally stable and strong, provided it is well maintained. We advise wiping it dry with a soft cloth and removing stains immediately with a slightly damp cloth. Touching it up with a neutral furniture oil once every six to twelve months keeps the wood in optimal condition and enhances the natural grain. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and do not place hot or very damp objects directly on the top, use coasters for warm dishes and candlesticks.
