Description
Above a sideboard, a small dining table or a desk, the right size matters most. With a diameter of 85 cm, the Martani does not take over the room, yet it carries enough presence to act as a focal point above a tabletop. Mounted at a height of 150 cm, the shade keeps enough distance from the tabletop, so the view stays clear while the light still falls directly on the table.
The round shade is built from metal slats, handmade in Uden. Walk past it and the image shifts: one side shows a closed volume, the other lets the light play between the slats. During the day, the Martani is mainly a graphic object on the ceiling, while in the evening attention shifts to the warm glow of its single downlight.
