Pendant light Ztahl Riva Danish oval 110 x 50 cm 6-light

Above a long dining table, a pendant light needs room to breathe, and that is exactly what the Riva from Ztahl is built for. With a length of 110 centimetres and a width of 50 centimetres, the Danish oval shape follows the line of an elongated tabletop, rather than placing a loose circle above it. At a height of 120 centimetres, the fixture carries enough volume to act as the focal point of the dining area, without closing off the space above the table.

The distinctive feature is the mix of fittings: three E27 sockets hold decorative bulbs that glow visibly, while three 50 mm GU10 spots cast directed light onto the table. That combination of visible and functional light gives the Riva more depth than a row of matching spots. The tubes sit at varying heights, giving the whole fixture a looser feel. An external dimmer lets you bring the light down to a calm evening setting. Ztahl makes this model by hand in Uden, from metal, in black, grey or sand.

At home, measure the length of your table first and mark out the 110 by 50 centimetres with painter's tape on the floor or wall, so you can see straight away how the oval relates to your tabletop. At the Mokana Furniture showroom in Enschede, you can view the Riva in person and compare the colours and fittings side by side.
